Feeling the Economic Pinch?

In these challenging economic times, individuals with developmental disabilities may be needing extra help in making ends meet. The Informing Families Building Trust wants to help. They have produced a new podcast series focused on free and low-cost services for people with developmental disabilities and their families. Links are on the Washington State Developmental Disabilities Council website www.informingfamilies.org.

The first segment of this three-part podcast series focuses on food and health care resources that are available in Washington State and are available to individuals and families whether or not they are receiving services from DDD. Self Advocate Emily Rogers talks about statewide toll free hotlines that have information about the Quest Card, Family Food, Family Health, State Wide Health Insurance, Prescription Drug Program and Benefits Check-Up.

Future podcasts will focus on Houseing & Utilities and Benefits Planning. Keep checking back on the Informing Families website.
